Last year Doug Willett and I helped Leith Park to build a model railway from equipment donated by a family. Last December was the Grand Opening.
The morning started with setting up the layout. The only fixture to the board is the track, glued down with PVA glue. Everything else was taken from the large collection of model trains donated by Ivor Clift and his family.
Doug and I found the entire experience of building and setting up the layout very rewarding, and it was great to be able to represent the Elhtam Model Railway Club in the community. It also turns out that Ivor Clift was an EMRC member around 1990 (well before when I joined), so it was a wonderful opportunity for EMRC to help an old member and his new fellow residents to once again enjoy his model trains.
